Established in 1954 by Charles and Opal Haynes to grow hot house tomatoes for the local market. the business has evolved over the years into a flourishing garden center. Theresa started working for the Haynes' right out of high school. In 1979, she and her new husband, Tim Shelton purchased the business, adding a landscape division and one more greenhouse. More expansion came in 2000 when the entire business was moved to its present location with a new large retail building including a full service mower repair shop. The mowers keeps Tim so busy now that he no longer offers landscaping service. The new garden shop also houses a gallery upstairs for Theresa's artwork, a passion she has pursued since childhood.
In June, Tim and Theresa will celebrate 30 years of marriage. That's 30 years of working side by side.
